Run XP Software in Windows 7 - onealyouds1985

SIUC asked the Windows forum about running software intended for Windows XP in Windows 7.

Largely, it should just work. I've rarely run into programs that run fine in XP just have trouble in Windows 7.

But if you've see one of those rare programs, try running information technology in XP Compatibility Mode:

Right click the .exe file or the shortcut and select Properties.
Click the Compatibility tabloid.
Check Run this program in compatibility mode for and choice an appropriate option.

If this doesn't work, there's another work-around: XP Way. (And yes, I know IT's silly that the ii solutions are called XP Compatibility Style and XP Manner.) Unfortunately, this option is only available for Windows 7 Professional person and Ultimate editions.

You'll ask to download and install Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC (be patient; it's a big download).

Formerly you're finished, you'll be able to in reality run XP inside a virtual auto in Windows 7. It's not as smooth as simply linear the programs in Windows 7–you're in an entirely different environment. Even the hard drive that XP boots from and runs off of is a virtual unity.

But you won't be only hand-hewn-off from Windows 7. You will be capable to access the real number Winchester drive from within XP, and both versions of Windows will share the same clipboard.
